Jen on front desk was super nice and helpful! Very sweet to our tween girls and helped us find our lost remote ( wedged behind the bed!!) Nice pool and workout room. Close to the shops and BC park. Free breakfast! Not the most updated decor, but that isn't an issue to me as it was clean!
I have stayed at this hotel twice. It is not fancy, but is clean and comfortable and the breakfasts are great! Both times the staff has been very helpful and friendly.
Knowing the history of the building and seeing it be transformed into something more of a modern country club is something neat to see. It was built back in June of 1993. Yes, it does not have an elevator. The original buyer and floor designer decided not to put in an elevator. I don't know why, but hey it's in the past. The hotel did go under some renovations. They replaced all of the bathrooms with new equipment inside of them. Oh, the mirrors are so gorgeous in there! Huge too! I will say that me and my significant other had a little fun in their honeymoon room. If any of you have stayed in rooms 217-221 you'll know exactly what I am talking about. The lady at the front desk, sweetest brunette but I can't recall her name told us that they plan on renovating some more in the winter season. They plan on re-doing every single room. So that means they might be putting in new floors! We are curious to see if it will be carpet flooring or wood flooring. I hope for wood! :) Can't wait to come back next fall!
I found the staff knowledgeable and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and had several selections. The pool looked inviting, although we didn't use it. The bathroom, linens and bed were clean and the bed was comfortable. I found the sofa and carpet very stained which made me feel that they weren't clean. I did not feel comfortable sitting on the sofa, nor walking on the carpet with bare feet.
Big change from three years ago when we stayed. Seems to have new management. Dirty carpets and dirty upholstered furniture. Crowded and junky looking when you first enter. It was very charming three years ago. Our room smelled funky. We won't return. Comfort Inns seem to be going down hill.
